Managers quotes after Wigan v City

Lennie Lawrence

"We're disappointed, our away record has been quite good and we don't normally get beat 3-0.

"We need to make sure the season doesn't end in a massive anti-climax, starting with the two home games against Burnley and Wimbledon.

"Top 10 would be a reasonable first season, but we're not there yet.

"We did enough to deserve a goal but our best football came when the game was gone.

"The pace and the power are what Wigan are all about and that's what we struggled to cope with."

Paul Jewell

"Lennie Lawrence is an old friend and we were talking before about how his central defenders would deal with our strikers and vice versa.

"I think we came out on top with that one. At times they were unplayable with their pace and power. But it would be nice to get a few goals from other areas.

"I'm sure there are plenty of other managers that would like to have them but it's the same with someone like Robert Earnshaw.

"There are plenty of twists and turns to come. There are four games left and 12 points to play for.

"There are plenty of other clubs that will have been looking for Cardiff to do them a favour and there are quite a few that would swap places with us."
