Managers comments after City's draw at Hull

Dave Jones was full of praise for last minute hero Roger Johnson.

"He's been struggling because he pulled one of his ribs yesterday," explained Jones.

"But thankfully he got through it and swung that left leg of his.

"He's right-footed and he scored the goal with the left but if you don't buy a ticket you can't win the raffle.

"I think with the chances we had and the chance we missed it would have been an injustice if we hadn't come away with something," he added.

"We had enough chances to win the game but we've got to keep that back-door shut and stop making the mistakes we keep making.

"With a bit more care and bit more luck we should have scored more goals."

Hull manager Phil Brown.

"It's disappointing and the changing room will emphasise that," he said.

"It's the learning curve for the young lads that I'm interested in.

"They have to learn how to close down the game and they didn't do that.

"It's inexperience, simple as that.

"We are not going to get there overnight and it's a building-block process - it's going to take a season to know what we are.

"But the bottom line is that I've got a committed bunch of players and a hard-working team who are difficult to play against and can create chances - it's a recipe for success.

"Maybe the Gods weren't smiling on Dave with the flight plans but maybe they were today."
