"I thought we played some fantastic football in the first half, but we battled, stayed strong and won the game.
"We needed a bit of luck at the start, but it didn't affect us and the players must deserve praise for that.
"The second half was a non-event but we didn't switch off, which we have been doing, and we earned our luck.
"We got our heads down and worked our socks off.
"We took our anger out on the opposition rather than each other.
"Negativity isn't new, but the players rose above that and stayed strong.
"I've got nothing but praise for my players."
