"The penalty was definitely the turning point in the game. Not many officials would have given a penalty as they seemed to be very little going on.

"Once they had scored from that we had to chase the game but in all honesty our passing was not up to the mark, our luck was out and generally we were not good enough."

Danny Wilson

"I think we showed even more character than last season when we came here and won 3-1. Today I had a big performance from every player as we had to be disciplined throughout the match and keep a positive attitude.

"The first half was even and we got our noses in front with that penalty early in the second half. Cardiff then had to push forward but we defended well and still looked dangerous on the counter-attack. It is a very good result for us to beat everyone's favourites for promotion but it is still too early to say anything yet about our own chances.

"I hope we get the recognition we deserve for this victory but I still think that Cardiff City are the team to be above at the end of the season if we want promotion."

Neil Alexander

"The boys are disappointed, but there's still a long way to go and we're still in a great position in the league. There's no need for us to be downhearted. This is just one bad result. It's not a big blip. We've been playing well all season but against Bristol City we just didn't perform. We didn't pass the ball well.

"The first goal was always going to be important and, unfortunately for us, they got it. It was an uphill battle once they scored with their penalty. It just wasn't our night."

(For the second goal) "It was a 50-50 ball and I had to go for it. It could have gone my way or it could have gone his. Unfortunately for me, it went his way. I wasn't sure if I was going to get to the ball first. We got to it at virtually the same time and he's nicked it off me. I knew it was 2-0 as soon as that happened."

"Now we've just got to carry on and hopefully get a result at Colchester. We're all looking forward to that game."

Christian Roberts

"That was the only goal I've ever scored which I didn't enjoy. It was a very strange feeling coming back to Ninian Park and scoring. This was the first time I've played against Cardiff since leaving the club. It was hard for me to take in. To be honest, I'm glad the day's over."

"I decided before the game that I wasn't going to celebrate if I scored. I spent 10 years at Cardiff. Out of respect to the club and its fans, I didn't feel it was appropriate to celebrate. I spoke to Nathan Blake earlier in the week about what to do when you face your old club and he was great. He told me not to fire-up the Cardiff fans.

"He told me not to do anything that could turn them against me. I didn't celebrate when I scored - but I didn't even want to celebrate."
