"It means that I am doing something right," Jones told Sky Sports News.
"It is a nice award and I appreciate it. But it is about what goes on at the club, it is not just me.
"I have a great bunch of lads here. They work their socks off. It is a pleasure to come into work. The ethos and the culture of the football club are getting stronger every day.
"We're just working hard to get out of this division. We are competing with many good sides and it is very difficult. We need to be a little bit patient."
It's been a good day for Jones with confirmation that Michael Chopra has returned on loan to Ninian Park.
