"It feels great to be here." Chadwick told the BBC. "I had a few options but I thought Reading was the best place to come at this time. Reading are doing well. They are a great club and a big club. They have got a beautiful stadium and hopefully I can do well."
Cardiff were hoping to take Chadwick on loan until the end of the season but several reasons have been given as to why they would not complete the deal.
1. Chadwick was discussing the move with his wife, who is from Cambridgeshire.
2. City did not want him to sign yet in case he could not be available for the play offs if needed.
3. Jason Bowen was back in form so did we actually need him.
4. Other clubs were interested so Chadwick was keeping his options open.
Press reports claim that Reading have nipped in and taken Chadwick while Cardiff hesitated?
I guess only Lennie and Sam know the truth as to why he is not a Cardiff City player at the moment after Alex Ferguson gave his backing to a Ninian Park move.
At a guess I would think the boy was worried about dropping to Division 2 and his heart was not in it. Will we ever find out?
