Loan watch

C:WindowsTempphp8AF8.tmpNo wonder Tan flew over this week, that's one potential crisis he needs to sort out in person. It can't be a coincidence that, within hours of Tan's arrival, strong rumours started about a loan deal being done for the one man who could single-handedly save Loan Watch from oblivion- Etien Velikonja (pictured). It's the hope that kills you, let's move on.

Two games for most of our loaned players this week. David Tutonda got 120 minutes in for York on Tuesday as they overcame Bradford on penalties in the Cup, they go to Swansea in the next round. A disappointing 2-1 home defeat against Ronnie Moore's Hartlepool yesterday though as they let a 1-0 lead slip. Deji Oshilaja's Gillingham continue their encouraging start to the season, a 2-1 win at Plymouth in the Cup followed by a 1-1 draw at Port Vale. The same scorelines for Wolves for whom Adam le Fondre made two substitute appearances. Tom Adeyemi seems to be winning over the Leeds fans very quickly, another good performance from him today in a 0-0 draw at Reading.

Of our former players, goals in Scotland this weekend for Kenny Miller, Michael Chopra and Steve MacLean (for St Johnstone. Simon Lappin has also scored for them this season). Aaron Wildig scored for Morecambe and Josh Yorwerth scored on his debut for Ipswich in the week. Yorwerth showed some character as his missed tackle gifted Stevenage a lead but he fought back, got the equaliser and helped Ipswich to a 2-1 win.

Nice to see Mats Moller Daehli back from injury for Freiburg in Germany, only his third appearance for them. A 3-1 home defeat for Freiburg, two red cards didn't help. They now play in the same division as Guido Burgstaller's Nurnberg, when they play each other next it'll give Mats and Guido a chance to reminisce about all the good times they had together here.
