A quick update on our loaned out players. Sorry it's been a couple of weeks since the last one but Mike thought it would be a good idea to put it behind a paywall and see how it went. He's £1.63 up on the deal (and seems worryingly happy about it) but I've told him I'm a man of the people and need to stay in touch with my loyal (but obviously poverty-stricken) fan base so here I am. I can't reveal what you've missed I'm afraid so if you want to know about Malachi Fagan-Walcott's concussion, Kieron Evans' one minute cameo against Tranmere or Eli King's penalty in the extra point shoot-out against Gillingham in the EFL Trophy then you may have to die wondering.
Bad weather played havoc with the weekend fixtures but Joel Colwill made hay while the sun shone last night (or was that floodlights?) as he scored the only goal of the game for Cheltenham against Tranmere in the 89th minute. He was the game's outstanding player but manager Michael Flynn wasn't expecting Joel to come up with the winner after some ropey efforts earlier in the game. This is something I've noticed about him too, he does seem to rely on the law of averages for his goals rather than being a natural finisher but it was a good one last night and he's chipped in with a few this season so credit where credit's due.
York went back to the top of the National League today with a 4-0 win against Yeovil. Malachi Fagan-Walcott put in an 8/10 performance and came up with an assist for the third with a through ball. York are just ahead of Forest Green and Barnet, who beat Woking 2-0 today. Raheem Conte came on as a sub for Woking.
No pitch time for Eli King today but Kieron Evans got a full game in as Newport drew 0-0 at Notts County. Ryan Wintle didn't get on for Millwall while Barry and Plymouth Parkway's games were postponed. Roko Simic's barnstorming season for Kortrijk (143 minutes in 3 heavy defeats and a draw so far) continues at Westerlo tomorrow.
