After back to back League wins Cardiff City fans can come to Anfield to enjoy a day out against Premier League heavyweights Liverpool. The six points picked up in the last seven days has eased City's relegation fears a little and should allow the cup to be a positive distraction before another huge Championship fixture on Wednesday against Peterborough.

Liverpool team news:

Both Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane remains absent as they battle it out against each other to be crowned African Cup of Nations champions later that evening. Their expected return date, according to Klopp, is the Reds' game against Leicester City on Thursday.

Elsewhere, the Liverpool boss has hinted that it may be too soon for new signing Luis Diaz to make his debut for the club, although Harvey Elliott is set to make his long-awaited return to the matchday squad after nearly five months out.

Divock Origi is also in line to feature, but Thiago should be set to miss out after coming down with a chest infection following a return from his hip problem.

Cardiff team news:

Cody Drameh, Max Watters, Alfie Doughty and Uche Ikpeazu are all cup tied. Sean Morrison as earlier reported is long term injured, Curtis Nelson and Joe Ralls are doubtful.

Tommy Doyle is eligable to play as is Jordan Hugill.

Match Facts:

  • Liverpool have scored 15 goals across their last four meetings with Cardiff City, winning all four matches in what were Premier League ties in 2013-14 and 2018-19.
  • Cardiff and Liverpool last met outside of league competition during the 2012 League Cup final, a match which was drawn 2-2 with the Reds eventually going on to lift the trophy after a penalty shootout. Cardiff, however, have won the only two FA Cup meetings with Liverpool in 1930 (round 3) and 1928 (round four).
  • In their six previous campaigns under Jürgen Klopp, Liverpool have been eliminated from the fourth round of the FA Cup on four occasions – more than any other side in the competition in this time.
  • Starting with their 2008 final defeat to Portsmouth, Cardiff have lost six of their last seven FA Cup ties with top-flight opposition, only moving past Newcastle in round three back in 2013-14.
  • In round three, Kaide Gordon (17y 96d) became the second-youngest goalscorer in Liverpool's history, after only Ben Woodburn v Leeds in November 2016 (17 years 45 days).
