"I want the third month," Lawrence told the Echo. "The lad has done well and he is a good prospective buy for us, but I won't be forced into anything.
"It took us the best part of a month to get him match fit and I want another month.
"Then, of course, we will have to decide, but we want him to stay with a view to Julian staying on beyond his loan spell."
Gray will start for City against Stoke tomorrow.
