The abrasive Blades manager has a reputation for rubbing people up the wrong way, and in particular, annoying his opposite numbers.
But the man Sam Hammam calls the 'King of Cool' is looking to put one over an old adversary for his own reasons.
"I have been in a few clashes with Mr Warnock over the years and I have to say - and I don't say this about many people - I have usually come off second best," said Lawrence.
"So I hope I can remedy that record.
"He won't wind me up, but we have crossed swords many times and he is very good at it.
"I don't dislike him, I'm okay with him.
