Lennie hopeful of transfer activity soon

Now that the retained list has been sorted lennie will look ahead to who he wants to sign. Most contracts tend to run out at the end of June and with Lennie going on holiday in a weeks time it maybe later rather than sooner that any activity takes place.

Lennie would like to sort something out soon. he meets next week with Sam to discuss the budget available.

Lennie told the Echo

"I wouldn't mind getting one or two deals done before I go away, and Sam would like to do it yesterday. But the players themselves are away on holiday now and it doesn't normally happen until the first week of July.

"I can't really say how many we are going to bring in, but the emphasis will be on quality rather than quantity. n a perfect world you would like to strengthen all departments, but we'll have to wait and see.

"The pressure is off us at the moment, but if we go out and spend £10m on players then it's back on, big time. The figure of £10m was mentioned in conjunction with the stadium getting planning permission, so I wouldn't anticipate anywhere near that sum being spent at all.

"The Welsh criteria is something Sam and I do talk about to some extent, and if there was a real top quality young Welsh player available obviously we would be interested in him."
