"I'm guilty as charged for being sent from the dug-out. I had a go at the fourth official for the amount of time added on and I'll get done. There is no point evading it." Lawrence said.
Lawrence was proud of his players performace, and had commented that he thought Earnie's performance, his passing and movement, had been the best he'd seen from the young striker.
"For us, there were some outstanding performances - it was the best game Earnshaw's had since I've been at the club - the passing and movement was good and there were no real weaknesses."
Lawrence though was understandably disappointed with a goal being conceded so late
"The time added on was a cheat - there is no other word for it,"
"Why did the referee add on four-and-a-half minutes of injury time when the fourth official indicated there should be at least three? There may have been one Plymouth substitution after the board went up, which would have been an extra 30 seconds or a minute.
"The reason it went on for longer was because Plymouth had an endless number of corners and I feel the referee wanted to see what would happen.
"We're top of the league, so it's not a case of sour grapes - I've no complaints whatsoever with the referee's overall performance - it is just a statement of fact."
Now the dust has settled on a highly passionate night City are still top of the table. Of course it's where we finish in May that matters but try telling any City fan this morning.
Cardiff City leaders of Division 2. It's in our own hands now. Win our remaining 36 games and no one can catch us. Roll on Saturday, a home game with Crewe and a win of course keeps us top. Then a break from the league action with a glamour tie against Spurs in the Worthington Cup before the top of the table clash at the JJB against previous table toppers Wigan.
