"It will be great to play in my home stadium for Wales, it's a smashing place, the pitch is excellent and hopefully it will be a sell-out. Certainly all the lads are looking forward to it," said the midfielder.
Ledley has been overlooked for the captaincy this time in the absence of Craig Bellamy. Swansea's Ashley Williams, in a week where he was awarded the Welsh Player of the Year Award, has been given the honour.
Joe hops that City's new stadium will generate an intimidating atmosphere.
"Ninian Park used to be a frightening atmosphere for visiting teams, but that's gone now and hopefully the new ground will become just as intimidating. Cardiff's fans have been doing their best this season."
And speaking about Cardiff and their chances this season Joe continued.
"We are all disappointed with losing the derby to Swansea, we just were not good enough and sloppy, certainly in the second-half having fought back from 2-0 down.
"But that, we hope, is a blip in what is becoming a good season for us.
"We are nearly a third way through the campaign now and we are sustaining the levels that we had last season when we almost got into the play-offs.
"We have improved the squad and third place at this stage is very encouraging.
"We all believe that we are improving and we all desperately want to play in the Premier League."
