Joe was on the pitch for 77 mins and was fouled to earn Celtic a penalty that was scored by Samaras to make the game 1 - 1 but after Joe was subbed in the second half Utd went on to win 3 - 1.
Speaking to the Echo earlier this week Joe hit back at some of the stinging criticism he received for going to the SPL and blamed Cardiff for not cashing in on him.
"I don't think the fans really know what has gone on and I've been disappointed by some of the things that have been said," said the 23-year-old. "I am a Cardiff boy and, in an ideal world, the club would have got some money for me. Stoke, for example, offered two players for me and Cardiff rejected it.
"There have been offers in the past too. Wigan offered £4m last year, but it was knocked back and Everton were interested too.
"Cardiff had the chance to get some money, but they didn't take it. It's down to them."
