Sam Hammam when asked at todays press conference explained that Cardiff City did not want to have a player away for long periods on the opposite side of the world and missing games for Cardiff City.
The club would in effect have to have two players of similar quality in the squad, one to step in to cover the international who can be away at tournaments in the America's for maybe a month or more during the course of the football season here.
