Koumas ready to repay Bluebirds

There had been murmerings amongst the supporters as to whether we'd ever see Koumas play for us again after his lack of involvement of late which followed some very low key appearances. But he came off the bench on Saturday and provided the cross that Jay Bothroyd nodded on for Seyi Olofinjana to secure a vital three points. His all round demeanour was very positive and that's excellent news.
"I owe the Bluebirds fans and that debt will be paid," said Koumas, who is on a season-long loan from Wigan.
"The fans will see me back to where I was when I last played for Cardiff. That's a promise." Koumas was named player of the year in his first spell with the Bluebirds in 2006-07, but has been on the periphery this season, starting only four league games.
"I haven't played consistently for two seasons and it's been tough," he said. "But I will start banging on the door soon to get on that pitch from the start. Our fitness coach (Alex Armstrong) told me at the start of the season it would be tough, but I wouldn't have any of it.
"I wanted to hit the ground running, but it wasn't possible.
"I have had an ingrowing toenail done again and that kept me out for two weeks.
"But I want to be involved against Burnley because I am ready to make an impact."
