One of the biggest success stories so far has been Jason Koumas. The former Tranmere player was signed by West Brom where his career stalled.
He came to Cardiff City and is now in the form of his life and he wants to stay and take City to the Premiership.
"I'm hoping Cardiff can find the money to sign me," Koumas told the Western Mail.
"I want to move here on a permanent basis, but it's a question of whether the club can do it. I'm sure they can.
"I'm loving it at Cardiff. I'm really enjoying my football at the moment, and I think the team's got a good chance of finishing in the top six.
"I certainly want to stay for the rest of the season. I feel I owe that to Dave Jones.
"He's probably the best manager I've played under.
"He's getting me my confidence back. He just tells me to go out and play, and that means a lot. Why would I want to leave Cardiff when I'm enjoying it so much?"
A problem could come in the January transfer window. There's little doubt that Premiership clubs will have been alerted by Koumas' form and if a decent offer comes in for him then West Brom can sell him, unless Cardiff can match the offer. As Koumas himself says he'd love to stay and he wants nothing to do with the Baggies.
"I've got three years left on my contract at West Brom, but I don't want to go back there. I don't want any word off them', he continued.
"I want to stay at Cardiff, but we'll just have to see what happens. I came here to get into the play-offs. I could've gone to Wolves, but I was confident with the players the gaffer was getting in at Cardiff that we could finish in the top six.
"And if we can get into the play-offs, who knows what might happen from there?"
Of course for City cash will be the decider. With crowds dropping below the 13,000 break even figure it would be easy for the club to not go for an investment in Jason Koumas. The money from the Arsenal game will go towards keeping the budget on track but as supporters we can get down to Ninian Park (especially with three from the next four games at home) and boost the attendances to give the club little option other that to sign Koumas up if we have to. He's essential to our success and we must keep him for the whole of the season at the very least.
