From zero to hero, Keogh was getting the sharp end of the supporter's tongues but in one moment he transformed into a City power player.
His flicked header in the 89th minute gave City, in my view, a deserved win after a below par performance.
Discussion after the game tended to think Millwall deserved a point but I don't agree. It was Cardiff who went looking for the win and it was Cardiff who didn't sit back and waste time and be niggly and look to steal a point.
Millwall were a goal up after 10 mins. They broke at speed and literally carved City up. Jay Bothroyd though scored again to level. He took full advantage of a loose ball in the box and made no mistake. In fact he should have scored three by half time.
The visitors went down to 10 men after a straight red card for Liam Trotter when he scythed down Darcy Blake. Soon after Peter Whittingham was given a chance from the penalty spot after he was fouled in the box. His excellent kick was superbly saved by former City keeper David Forde.
The second half was mostly City with Millwall defending deep and looking to attack on the break. They did a decent job of it until the 89th minute when a City free kick was cleared to Jay Bothroyd and his cross was glanced home by Keogh. The Irishman ripped off his shirt and lost himself in the moment, along with 22,000 others.
The 4 mins of added time went by smoothly enough. A superb 3 points under difficult circumstances and most welcome after back to back defeats.
Kenny Jackett was not happy apparantly. Tough.
