"Peter has made an awful lot of goals for Earnie but he needs to be more selfish in and around the box. In the last couple of games his build-up play has been good and outside the box he's brilliant but I think he's starting to feel the pressure in front of goal. At Stoke, Peter didn't go through a period like this where he was not scoring goals and I would imagine his confidence is lacking."
Thorne has not scored since City's awayday at Margate in round 2 of the FA Cup. So far this season he's only scored 7 goals but has been credited as a major reason why Robert Earnshaw is scoring so many.
Thorne's all round work rate is excellent but as a striker it's goals he wants.
Kav continued
"He's fantastic at winning balls in the air and getting flick-ons but all strikers want to score goals and Peter is no different. As a striker you want to feel as though you're contributing and to do that you need to be scoring."
Thorne will parter Earnshaw up front against Coventry tomorrow night hoping to kick start his goal scoring. Kav believes City can do well at Coventry tomorrow
"After the first game, Coventry will know that we're more than a match for them and there's a good possibility of an upset. Once we got the first goal, our momentum was building and had the game gone on for another 10 minutes, I think we'd have won it. It's important that we try to take that momentum into this match. "
