Jones wants to ban referee

I'll send a letter to the FA requesting that we don't have him again," Jones told the press on Thursday.

"I don't know if it will work, but for me to lose my temper with an official is very rare, but between the pair of them they must've been the only two in the whole stadium that did not think it was a penalty.

"I know Mike Newell said at the end there he wasn't sure, believe you me, he was sure and he knew as everybody else did.

"Every player, every manger there knew, I had someone call me the next day who was doing a report for another team and he knew.

"So if they all can see it, we can't all be wrong and two people be right.

"It takes brave people to make brave decisions and, as I said, I don't think we should have him again because for me he doesn't make the right decisions in big games on big evenings when two teams are fighting for a play-off spot, why should I have him again?"

The game was deep into injury time and poised at 3 - 3 when Koumas was felled as he broke free on goal. The points dropped could prove costly for Cardiff City as they try to close down the gap to the play off places.

"I said before that if you are going to referee, you've got to aspire to get to the top, if he can't make those sort of decisions in big games, then he shouldn't be there.

"I haven't changed my thoughts on that and I don't see why he shouldn't be criticised whatsoever," Jones continued

"They are there to do a job, they are in a professional game and I expect a professional performance from them.

"Everybody makes mistakes, my players made mistakes on the night and everything else, but I don't think that was a mistake.

"He can't say he didn't see it or he didn't think it was a penalty because if he thinks, in his judgement and the linesman's judgement, that it wasn't a penalty, then they shouldn't be in the game because that is a bad, bad mistake to make.
