The City boss is more confident after winning on the weekend.
Jones opened his comments by wish his mate Ian Holloway all the best at Leicester but only after tonight's game.
"I am pleased for Ian on his move to Leicester, he is a good friend of mine, but when the time comes for kick-off all that goes out the window," said Jones.
"The fact that it is their first home game with a new manager could give them a lift, then again it could work against them. It is difficult to say because I don't know the players he has got, what he has said or what he is doing.
"But we had scouts at the Bristol City game and we will sit down and look at what they have to say and what the reports are.
"All I do know is that after the Ipswich game we go there a lot more confident than if we had drawn or lost.
"It is all about keeping it going now and trying to climb the league. We have to take things into the next game now."
