Jones looking for maximum points

"We've got to try and get maximum points before we get to the last game," said Jones.

"If we don't, it just makes it more nervy. Teams getting close all feel tension at this stage of the season. You've come so far and you don't want to give it up. And this club doesn't do it the easy way.

"But the only way to alleviate the nerves is by being relaxed and playing our normal game.

"We mustn't be frightened to pass a ball.

"Certainly the other night at Charlton we were trying to make a five-yard pass secure.

"Before, we didn't need to think about it because of how we were playing. But we're not alone in that - everybody around us will be feeling it."

City's hopes of 2nd place rely on other teams losing and drawing this weekend and City winning. Defeat for Birmingham at home to Preston tonight and the failure of Reading to win this weekend would mean, if Cardiff win today, that automatic promotion would still be a possibility going into the final weekend.

As Ninian Park plays out it's final regular league game it would be great to end the era with three points.
