Is it a revenge mission?
Jones told the club's official website: "It doesn't work like that in football. When you go looking for revenge, then you normally don't get it in any sport because you're focused on the wrong things.
"What you must focus on is doing what you're good at and making sure that you're concentrating 100 per cent and doing the right things and the right basics and you try and do that little bit extra.
"If you've got it into your head about what happened last year, then you never move forward. People ask whether we use a bad result like we had at Preston last year as a stick to beat the players with, but it never, ever works in football.
"That result was done and dusted when we got back. Of course the memory's still there but we won't go looking for revenge in any way because you won't perform to the level that's needed."
