Cardiff City face a quadruple injury worry ahead of Saturday's crucial south Wales derby with rivals Swansea City. Winger Chris Burke, defender Mark Kennedy and striker Kelvin Etuhu all picked up hamstring injuries in Tuesday's 2-1 win over Leicester City.
They will all have scans on Wednesday, while defender Darcy Blake suffered a neck injury in the win which also saw defender Gabor Gyepes sent off.
"It's catching up with us again," said boss Dave Jones of his injury-hit side.
"I've lost four players to injury and now lost Gabor for being sent off.
"I had to leave Burkey on. He couldn't run, he couldn't move as he tweaked his hamstring.
"Kelvin hamstring, Mark Kennedy hamstring, Darcy neck and Gabor sent off - we basically played with eight men in the second half because of the injuries we've got."
The loss of such players would not be ideal preparation for Saturday's showdown with Swansea at the Cardiff City Stadium which sees both teams aiming to secure a play-off place.
Cardiff are better placed than their west Wales neighbours as they are one position and three points ahead in fourth and are on a good run of form picking 13 points from 15 which has taken them eight points clear of the chasing pack.
Much of their change in form has been down to the return of several key players including midfield trio Stephen McPhail, Gavin Rae and top scorer Peter Whittingham.
They have also been without fellow midfielder Joe Ledley along with defensive duo Mark Hudson and Anthony Gerard during recent weeks, which has left Jones' squad down to the bare bones.
But while all are now nearing fitness and with Jay Bothroyd returning from suspension, Jones' latest headache could be the loss of up to four more players plus Gyepes, who definitely misses out on the derby.
"I was getting my creative players back and I felt I saw some light at the end of the tunnel because I know what the players are capable of and it was a matter of games, but it's caught us up again," said Jones after the win over Leicester.
"When you've got players in certain positions I can chop and change it, but there's certain positions at this moment in time that I can't.
"Unfortunately, the ones I need to change are all in the treatment room, but we will see.
"It was great to see Joe [Ledley] out there warming up, so I'll have my arguments with the medical team and will try and push him."
