"A draw was a fair result," said Dave Jones. "I can't fault my players for the effort they put in and there are a lot of tired legs in the dressing room.
"I am very proud of all of them and couldn't ask them for any more.
"It was like two boxers slugging it out on the pitch tonight and neither would give an inch.
"Peter Whittingham has a groin injury but until we look at it closer in the morning we cannot tell whether he will be available for Saturday's visit of Barnsley," added Jones.
Baggies boss Roberto di Matteo said: "We feel a little disappointed not to win the game.
"We had a number of chances in the second half but had no luck.
"It is a tough, competitive division and I am pleased with the players' performance tonight and now we are back on top we must continue to gain points to make sure we stay there.
"Jay Bothroyd was very clever in moving in front of our player to convince the referee that it was a penalty but on a positive note we have no more injuries to report."
