It was reported last week that the deal had been verbally agreed and now Jones has become the first at the club to confirm the deal is going ahead.
'Peter Ridsdale flew to Holland for talks with Glenn's agent,' said Jones to the Echo.
'The contract has been agreed and will be signed in the next few days.
'He has been a big part of this season and he's done well. Glenn is a young boy, still only 22, who is learning and he needs to improve on a lot of his game.
'Now he is our player and not just here on loan we can do more with him.
'He has never played so many games in all his life and has had to adapt to that.
'He was a big signing - and an important one.'
