Jobi McAnuff sale. Good football business

Jobi
City made a proft on the midfielder with his purchase said to be around £250,000 and his sale anywhere between £400,000 and some say a deal that could be worth upto £600,000.

McAnuff made 48 appearance last season for City but only chipped in with 3 goals. At times he was a joy to watch, super skills and it's always a pleasure to see a wide player making runs and exciting the crowd but Jobi never did that consistently.

Neal Ardley has signed on for City and his signature meant we could afford to be without Jobi. Ok Neal Ardely is not a pace player, he is a creator though. His pin point crosses and balls into the box as the season came to end created the goals that saved us in the Championship. We also have Paul Parry and Joe Ledley who play in wide roles.

So while it's sad to see Jobi go it's also good business for the club, money can be freed to give Dave Jones a budget to build a new team.

For Sam Hammam is was a sad decision as Jobi and his family were friends.

'Personally, I'm sad Jobi has gone," Hammam told the Echo. "It's not just about a player, I know Jobi and his family well. I have been trying to persuade his sister to do her masters degree. But, on a football front, we have Neal Ardley, we have Joe Ledley and Paul Parry.

'And we take 50 per cent profit on the McAnuff deals. Neal Ardley is vital to the style we want to play. Players have to go to provide Dave Jones with money to bring in players. Otherwise we are putting him in a situation where he can't get his own people.'
