City's loanee from Arsenal scored the crucial second goal in last night's 2 - 0 victory over Sheffield Utd and he's now looking forward to a successful end to the season.
"I'm feeling quite confident about Cardiff being able to go to the Premier League so hopefully everyone else feels the same," said Emmanuel-Thomas.
"The team is very strong and we've got a good build and obviously they can play decent football so they've just got to keep the run that we've got going now til the end of the season and you never know - we may reach the Premier League.
"Being in second place, obviously we'd go straight to the Premier League without even the play-offs so hopefully if we can keep where we are now then that's where we'll be next season," added the 20-year-old.
"It's been awkward. Everything's very tight and other teams are going up and down, winning and losing and at times you don't think it's going to happen, but obviously now it's going good for us - we just need to keep it going."
Jay has scored twice now for City, both in away 2 nil wins in Yorkshire. He'd like to get one at home as well.
"I'm very pleased obviously [to have scored]. I scored one earlier this season and hopefully now I've got my second I can get a couple more," he added.
"Hopefully I can get one at the City Stadium before the season's over."
