Cameron signed a 4 year deal this evening for a fee confirmed by Birmingham City as £3m with add ons that could see it rise to £4m.
With 20 goals last season Jerome was our highest scorer and considering he's only had a season and a half at this level he's done remarkably well for himself and Cardiff City. I wish him well.
Of course it won't be too long before we see him back at Ninian Park as Birmingham were relegated from the Premiership last season so we are in the same division for the coming campaign.
Speaking after the move Sam Hammam told the Cardiff City official website
"We have now successfully achieved the single most important strategic move that we will undertake this summer. The sale of Cameron Jerome and the timing of the sale were perfect for us strategically. We have now both the time and the money in order to prepare ourselves for next season without affecting at all the Clubs business and finance that is needed for the forthcoming stadium project."
Sam also went on to thank reserve team maanger Paul Wilkinson for bringing Jerome to the club and bringing him through to the first team.
Jerome himself told the Birmingham City official site
"I'm delighted to be joining a big club like this.
"I had a really good season last year at Cardiff and there was a fair bit of speculation about people coming in for me.
"Any striker that scores 20 goals has had a good season.
"Hopefully I can just pick up from where I left off last season and continue to do the same here at Birmingham."
