The latest is a long list of names being linked to City is Iwan Roberts. The 33 year old Norwich striker was claimed to be a target last season but the value of £500,000 placed on him by Norwich was seen as too much. The News of the World claim that Roberts has already had talks with Sam.
Roberts' wife has family in Cardiff and the player is quoted as saying
"It would be a dream for wife to return home. I'm flattered by City's interest."
Roberts joins an ever growing list of linked players. So far this summer we have been associated with the following players
Danny Coyne and Menno Willems from Grimsby
Andy Melville from Fulham
Tony Thorpe, Scott Murray and Mickey Bell from Bristol City
Kevin Donovan from Barnsley
Gary Croft from Ipswich
Stephen Bywater from West Ham
Iwan Roberts from Norwich
Lennie Lawrence has been quoted recenty as saying he wants to have agreements in place with new players before he goes on holiday at the end of May. He is essentially looking for a goalkeeper to become Neil Alexander's No.2, wide players, left and right, and also a target man. He will not look a gift horse in the mouth either, if another Andy Campbell style bargain comes along he will go for it.
