Graham Kavanagh and Alan Lee have both been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for the friendy against Bulgaria in Dublin on August 18th.
My City supporting colleague in Dublin saw the press conference. He said
"At today's Irish news conference, Irish boss Brian Kerr hinted Lee could get a starting role against Cyprus in the Republic's opening World Cup qualifier in Dublin in September if he doesn't use Damien Duff in an attacking role. So, I would imagine Lee will definitely be involved against Bulgaria, as will Kav, whom Kerr rates. Noel O'Reilly, a senior member of Kerr's coaching staff, was at Crewe on Saturday and gave Lee a glowing report. Rated Lee as our best player on the day."
