Webb was the referee for City's opening Premier League game at West Ham. Ahead of that game I wrote.
World Cup final referee Howard Webb will officiate Cardiff City's opening Premier League fixture this weekend.
City have a long record with Webb stretching back over 10 years to the 2003 play off final victory over QPR at the Millennium Stadium.
Webb is the leading referee in the Premier League, he has officiated The Community Shield, The League Cup final, the FA Cup final, a Champions League final and a World Cup final.
The ex policeman was awared the MBE in 2011.
So far this season Webb has officiated 19 games issuing 58 yellow cards and one red card. The red came this week as he sent off Milan's Riccardo Montolivo in the 0 - 0 Champions League draw with Ajax.
