What the managers had to say after Cardiff City's 3 - 0 win over Aston Villa at CCS on Saturday.

Neil Warnock

"That's why I'm in football really: excitement, chances and saves, ooh and ahs.

"But we've not done anything yet, we've won two games of football," Warnock warned.

"Just wait until 10 games have gone, we've got all the top sides coming up.

"So I don't get carried away. Sometimes you guys (the press) get carried away but if you do that, you get kicked in the teeth.

"The momentum is nice, it's good to get points in the early stages, instead of playing catch-up, but every game is a difficult game. That's two out of the way and 44 to go.

"I wouldn't want to play against (Zohore) right now, and I wouldn't want to play against Mendez or Junior.

"It's exciting at times now and I guess it was the perfect result for a manager.

"But I'm actually even more happy that we got a clean sheet."

"I thought we competed well and looked really sharp at times when we played one-touch. When they were dominating us we hung in there, which is what you've got to do in this league.

"I'm delighted to get the three points and I know Steve will be disappointed. We possibly played (Villa) at the right time because Steve will turn them round, with the quality they've got."

Steve Bruce:

"Everything went wrong apart from the first 20 minutes. We made a bad mistake for the first goal and after that it was on the verge of embarrassing at times. It was a rude awakening for us. We didn't do the basics well and we looked fragile.

“They continually broke on us and I don’t know how many times our goalkeeper pulled us out of the mire.

“Overall it was a very difficult afternoon

"We have to do more. We are Aston Villa and we come with a big reputation. But away from home we have to be aware of what's coming. There were two decent chances at 0-0, but we didn't take them. It's one of the biggest defeats I've had in the Championship, we lost all our shape and balance."
