Hasselbaink fiasco as Jimmy riddle deepens

Hasselbaink arrived for the new season in the belief that he had a new contract, triggered by playing a certain number of games last season. The club meanwhile claim thay made a verbal agreement with Jimmy to waive the written agreement and so end his time with Cardiff City.

Hasselbaink is not happy with the sutuation and has referred the matter to the PFA and his leagal team.

"I am very shocked and disappointed at the current situation," said Hasselbaink.

"Following discussions with my legal team, I'm unable to comment further at this time."

The PFA are on Jimmy's side saying he has a written contract.

The club say the matter can be resolved in a professional manner.

"Jimmy argues that he has another year on his contract, but we know that is not true," said Peter Ridsdale.

"But everything will be resolved.

"At the end of the day we are all professional people and this will be resolved in a professional manner one way or another."
