Sam denied it in the paper this morning and again this afternoon. He evens suggest the journalist may have been "spicing" up Joe's quotes. Hammam said to the Echo
"It's not true. I haven't approached Joe recently or in the past, nor have I had any intention of bringing Joe to Cardiff.
"I don't know why Joe would have said that if he did say it. Sometimes Joe says something like that and that is one of the reasons I love him. And I wouldn't say that whoever wrote that story is making it up, but maybe the journalist is just spicing up his quotes.
"He is a good man and I wish him a lot of luck at Nottingham Forest. He has a lot of ability and he is a good friend, but he will never be the manager of Cardiff.
"I always want to help him out whenever I can, but that is different to bringing him to Cardiff as manager or anything else. But even if he did say it, it won't even cause a ripple between us as friends because sometimes people say things on the spur of the moment and if he did say it, he didn't mean it like that."
