Greg Cunningham has once again gone out on loan. This time back to the club Cardiff bought him from in 2018.
Mick McCarthy confirmed the departure after the Barnsley game on Wednesday.
"Greg is going to Preston," Mick McCarthy said after the match.
"I've got Joel Bagan and I've got Joe Bennett, so I am a bit overloaded on left backs."
Cunningham, 29, played 111 games for Preston before his move to South Wales.
“I am delighted to be back and I am really looking forward to the second half of the season,” he said on his return to the North West.
“I am feeling good and feeling fresh. I feel I have a lot to give and I just want to thank for the club for bringing me back and I want to repay them for that."
