If Gilbert is fit then he may revert to right back allowing Keven McNaughton to play at left back and then Joe Ledley can go back into midfield.
If Gilbert is not fit then Ledley will stay at left back with Kamara possibly keeping his midfield place or maybe Jones lok to Kevin Cooper who has been added to the squad.
Birmingham are likely to use the same starting XI that beat Crystal Palace last week. That would include keeper Maik Taylor who should have recovered from a sore hip and skipper Damien Johnson. Last week Johnson infuriated the fans when he threw his captain's armband and shirt to the floor in disgust at being substituted.
Cameron Jerome is likely to be on the bench after completing his suspension for being sent off in the opening game of the season.
