FT Blackburn 1 - 1 Cardiff City

Football's a funny old game. You can add spin to any set of results to make it look good or bad.

On the positive side City have not lost yet this season and have negotiated back to back away games coming home with a result each time.

But where as on Saturday there was some jubilation in a 90h minute goal scored by City, tonight there was despair at an 88th minute goal conceded.

Joe Mason had put City in front in the fifth minute but despite possession and being comfortably on top Cardiff could not find a second. As the half wore on Blackburn took the initiative and had a goal ruled out just before the break.

The second half saw more pressure for the home side and it was inevitable that a goal was coming. Once again Sean Morrison was beaten too easily from a cross and Blackburn took a point to send the 377 fans from Cardiff away disappointed.

In injury time they will feel they should have taken all three. David Marshall, back in the side, saved well before Matt Connolly cleared off the line (Something he had to do at QPR as well).

So while we are unbeaten and showing some level of organisation we are also fragile and vulnerable at the same time.

Let's see where we are after 6 or even 10 games before we decide just how this season may pan out but unless this team can up it's overall performances then we could find that even so early in the season we are light years away from the top six position Russell Slade thinks he can achieve.

Starting Line Ups:

Blackburn: Raya, Henley, Duffy, Hanley (c), Spurr, Marshall, Lowe, Akpan, Conway, Delfouneso, Koita

Cardiff: Marshall, Peltier, Malone, Morrison, Connolly, Whittingham, Ralls, Pilkington, Dikgacoi, Revell, Mason.
