The deal has been agreed with CCFC and they are hoping to have his registration switched form the FAW to the English FA on Friday and to have any other bits tied up.
"I agreed a loan arrangement with Dave Jones last week and have only been able to speak with Stuart this week," Ward told the official Cheltenham website.
"Hopefully we will be able to bring Stuart in on a one-month loan with a view to extending it. I would like to have him with us in time for Saturday's game."
