He brings Preston to Cardiff hoping to follow Swansea and Forest who both took away three points from the capital in the last two games.
Preston prepared this week using Man Utd's Carrington complex ater their own was unusuable. Having a dad that manages Man Utd is handy sometimes.
"Cardiff away is tough, everyone knows that," said Ferguson.
"They've got a powerful forward line. Craig Bellamy is a top Premier League striker playing in the Championship, no argument about that.
"Then there's Jay Bothroyd, Chris Burke, Michael Chopra, Jason Koumas...all quality players.
"They've been beaten in their last two games so will be looking to put that right. For us, it's a game similar to QPR.
"Cardiff fans will be expecting their side to win comfortably. We will approach the game no differently to how we normally do.
"This week we've worked on our shape, how we'll try and deal with them, and we've done video work on Cardiff."
After seeing Cardiff lose 3 - 0 and 6 - 0 at Deepdale in the last two seasons I hope the Bluebirds make an effort of correcting those deficits and give Preston a good shoeing today.
