FA Charge Sol Bamba after Ipswich sending off

Last updated : 15 December 2016 By Michael Morris

A statement on the FA's website read: "It is alleged that his language and/or behaviour in or around the 69th minute of the fixture was abusive and/or insulting and/or threatening and is considered sufficiently serious to warrant an additional sanction."

Speaking shortly after the game, Neil Warnock said of the incident: "I have no complaints about the red card. It is disappointing that we lose one of our best players for three matches.

"I didn't really want to talk to Sol after the game so I will see him tomorrow. He just lost his rag but it was an aggressive attitude and I don't condone Sol's behaviour.

"He is distraught in the dressing room and quite rightly. For me, he is one of the best in the Championship and that was a blemish I haven't seen in his make-up."

Bamba has until 6pm on December 16 to respond to the charge.

So far he has missed one game and will sit out Saturday's visit of Barnsley but it's possible he'll have Christmas off as well when the FA impose their sanction.
