The club's crucial land deal was approved by the city council's executive board in a meeting which was delayed by two-and-a-half-hours yesterday as officials were working on the papers until the last minute.
The deal allows the club to:
Sell off a plot of land at Leckwith to major Bluebirds shareholder Paul Guy's company Capital Retail Partnership for £1.8m;
Defer paying 40% of the sale owed to the council - £750,000 - for five years, when it will be repayable with interest over a further five years;
Hand responsibility for building the community House of Sport facility to club director Steve Borley, who has guaranteed to complete it by September 2011.
