"I'm delighted, over the moon," Earnshaw said

"Hopefully I've forced the manager to play me again on Saturday. I was delighted not only to play but also to get on the scoresheet. I didn't feel I had a point to prove. I just went out to play football and have fun. I was dying to score. When I got the first I just wanted to run and run."

Earnie's hat trick must see him start the game on Saturday. Lennie said

"Earnie came in and went straight into top gear. I'm pleased for him. He was rusty in pre-season but I'm pleased to see him back to his best. It's good for him and it's good for Cardiff. He has given me something to think about for Saturday."

Lawrence was happy with last nights game and agains stressed that he takes all the games City play very seriously.

"We're battling on four fronts - the league, the FA Cup, the Worthington Cup and the LDV Vans Trophy and we play every game to win. We've sent out a message with this result. We're taking this competition seriously. There were no untried youngsters in the side for this game, we came up the day before the match and we trained hard. We didn't want to pick up the Cardiff newspapers in the morning and read that we'd been involved in a cup upset."

City have little time to rest as they are in action again on Saturday with a massive home leage game against Stockport County.
