Earnshaw pleads 'lay off Lennie'
ROBERT EARNSHAW last night told the Ninian Park hecklers to lay off under-fire Cardiff City manager Lennie Lawrence.
The Bluebirds slumped to their fourth successive defeat on Sunday - 2-1 at Watford in a game that 21-goal Earnshaw said the City chief was right to rest him for.
Cardiff collected only four points from a possible 18 during a bleak December, slipping from sixth in the First Division to 12th, and a section of City fans have since been using the internet to call for Lawrence's head.
But Earnshaw said, "Lennie has done very well at Cardiff. He is an experienced manager who knows his stuff.

ROBERT EARNSHAW spoke about his goal drought for the first time last night and declared, "I'm not worried."
Cardiff City star Earnie has netted 21 times this season but he has to go back to November 29 and six games for his last goal - a penalty in the 3-2 home defeat against Ipswich.
And his last strike from open play came three weeks before that, a brace in the 3-1 win over Stoke at Ninian Park on November 8.
But the Wales marksman - who was dropped to the bench for the first time this season for Sunday's 2-1 defeat at Watford - is convinced the goals will soon start flowing again.
