Stoke went on to win the division with 93 points, three better than
runnersup Bolton. West Brom wound up 4th with 85 points but went up
via the playoffs.

Reading 14- 5-2 47pts
Plymouth 12- 4-5 40pts
Reading went on to win the division with 89 points, one better than
runnersup Port Vale. Plymouth finished third with 85 points but lost
their semifinal playoff to Burnley.
31 Dec 1994
Birmingham 14- 7-2 49pts
Oxford Utd 14- 4-5 46pts
Birmingham went on to take the division with 89 points, four better
than runnersup Brentford. This was the year that only the division
winner gained automatic promotion, so Brentford had to go into the
playoffs. They lost in the semifinals to Huddersfield. Oxford
dropped all the way to seventh with but 75 points.

Crewe Alex 13- 5-4 44pts
Swindon 12- 8-2 44pts
Crewe slid to fifth with but 73 points, then lost their playoff
semifinal to Notts County. Swindon went on to win the division title
with 92 points.

Brentford 13- 8-4 47pts
Luton 14- 4-6 46pts
Brentford dropped to fourth with a total of 74 points. The Bees
reached the playoff final but lost 1-0 to Crewe. Luton fell to third
with 78 points, then crashed out of the playoffs at the semifinal
stage, losing to Crewe.

Watford 16- 7-2 55pts
Bristol C 16- 4-5 52pts
Watford won the division with 88 points. Bristol City took second
place with 85 points, a comfortable 13 points ahead of third-place
Grimsby.
28 Dec 1998
Fulham 15- 4-4 49pts
Walsall 14- 4-6 46pts
Fulham romped to the division crown with a breathtaking 101 points.
Walsall held on to second place, finishing up with 87 points and five
better than Manchester City in third.

Wigan 14- 9-0 51pts
Preston 14- 7-2 48pts
Wigan did eventually lose a game. In fact, they crashed to fourth
with 83 points, their mark over the second half a pedestrian 8-8-7.
They got to the playoff final but lost to Gillingham in a match that
went to extra time. Preston stayed hot, winning the division with a
95-point haul.

Millwall 15- 3-6 48pts
Wigan 12-10-2 46pts
Millwall went on to win the division with 93 points, two more than
Rotherham. Wigan wound up in sixth place with 75 points, then lost
their semifinal playoff with Reading.

Bristol C 14- 5-7 47pts
Stoke City 13- 7-4 46pts
Bristol City crashed to seventh with 73 points. They went 7-5-8 over
their last 20 games. Let's not talk about what happened with Stoke
except to say that they wound up fifth with 80 points and qualified
for the playoffs.
In short, 12 of the 20 new Division Two clubs in the top two at the end of the calendar year won promotion at season's end.
