The Latics lead the table by 2 points (they have 30) from City (28) and a win for Wigan would put them 5 points ahead of the Bluebirds before we kick off against Tranmere. A draw for Wigan would be enough to keep them top unless City can win by 8 or more goals. So for one day only, come on Luton.
City obviously will not lose any ground if they win but anything less could see the chasing pack of Bristol City, Oldham and Q.P.R. (all on 27) overtake the Bluebirds.
Crewe back in 6th are 3 points behind City and could go above us courtesy of their better goal difference if they win and we lose.
So best case scenario we go top, worse we could be in 6th place. (We could be in 6th after the afternoons results and then go back top if we win).
Bristol City face a trip to Peterborough, while Oldham visit Q.P.R. Crewe make the short journey to Port Vale.
Just outside the play off zone in 7th place are Blackpool. The win against City last week has pulled the Tangerines within 4 points of the Bluebirds. Blcakpool face a tricky trip to Plymouth.
So from the top 7 on City and Q.P.R. are at home. Blackpool's climb to within 4 points of us shows what a big defeat it was last Saturday. No mistakes this week.
