Delayed court case could be vital to City survival

The parties should have had their day in court yesterday bit as previously reported that was referred.

Now though it would suit Cardiff City if the date for the new hearing was later rather than sooner. A summer date would allow the club to complete the current season and be able to secure funding from the banks.

"I will be making a statement once we have the new date confirmed," Peter Ridsdale said. "Hopefully that will put at ease some of the anxiety and confusion I know some are feeling regarding this situation.

"We have to await a decision by the court, but a longer delay would certainly help us."

Ridsdale is still hoping to find a solution out of court.

"I still believe this matter should be resolved outside of a court case," he continued.

"Both sides are facing major legal fees building up to the court case.

"We were ready to meet Langston yesterday, but it did not take us up on our offer."

Meanwhile Echo writer Tery Phillips has penned his own plea to Sam Hammam to stop the legal battle and to get the matter sorted.

Your name should be revered among supporters, now that seems impossible.

Are you really a football man?
