"The abuse I've had from certain quarters here is something I've not had to endure before," said Jones
"I was getting invitations to have a fight. And you certainly don't expect death threats.
"I don't even know how these people got my number. A lot of it was personal. "You could say that sort of thing is part of football but I shouldn't have to put up with that. That's not what football is about.
"If people have got anything to say then why don't they say it to my face?" he continued.
"Fans are entitled to their views because they pay money to watch us - but sending abusive texts is something else.
"It doesn't bother me because I've been through worse in my life. But it has hurt my family and friends. These so-called fans think they have the right to do things like that."
Jones survived a boardrom vote on his future and has responded with a better run of form. Hopefully the abuse mentioned has now stopped. Criticise by all means but to resport to violent threats and death threats is pretty pathetic.
