He is reported to have shook hands on the deal with Sam and the club have officialy confirmed today that Jones will sign tomorrow.
"We need an inspired season, a lucky season, in 2006-2007 and Dave Jones is the man to lead our team," Sam told the Echo.
"We were there or thereabouts last season and now we need a team that is there.
"Dave performed miracles a year ago when we executed a fast programme, bringing 13 new players in and moving 15 out.
"This new contract for Dave Jones is an important piece of our jigsaw and we will now push on quickly."
Hammam has assured Jones that new training facilities will be forthcoming.
Hopefully now this will push away the Jones to Crystal Palace rumours that were starting to circulate.
